[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Thanks to sponsorship from Black Vanilla, 25 students from Guernsey’s schools and Sixth Form Centre attended the recent IoD debate about the Bailiwick’s future election model.

The 10th October 2018 will see the island’s first referendum on the method that Guernsey will use to vote Deputies to the States of Deliberation, and residents over the age of 16 can have their say.

The result of the referendum will have a long-term impact on Guernsey’s system of politics. The teenagers of today are the island’s future, so we were delighted to facilitate their attendance of this debate.

After the event, we asked two students to tell us what they thought of the morning, what they had learnt from the debate and which option they will be voting for on the 10th of October.
