Black Vanilla’s annual student public relations work experience event is fully booked, but the agency has set up a waiting list for students still interested in attending.

Following the success of the last two events, the agency increased its capacity to 35 students and has since filled all its spaces.

Guernsey’s next generation of communicators and creatives will have the opportunity to immerse themselves into the world of PR, creative content and events for the two-and-a-half-day workshop.

The work experience event will cover a broad range of topics, including reputation management, media relations, social media, copywriting, event management and content creation.

Through panels and guest speakers this year, students will gain additional insights from the local media, event suppliers and creative collaborators who will share their knowledge alongside Black Vanilla’s PR, social and events team on how industries work together and the skills needed to succeed.

Students and graduates taking part will also learn the full process of creating a stand-out PR campaign and will put what they have learnt into practice by designing a local campaign concluding in a presentation.

Nichole Culverwell, director at Black Vanilla, said: ‘We are thrilled to see an increased interest in PR, creative content and events from the younger generation. They are the future of our industry, and we want to arm them with the skills and knowledge necessary to kick-start their careers.

‘This immersive workshop will be an invaluable experience to learn vital skills under the guidance of industry experts. It is so important that students and graduates can gain insight into this rapidly evolving sector, especially as we respond to the impact of AI and climate change.

‘We look forward to expanding the local creative community and providing a platform to share what we do and who we work with. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone in July.’

Students and graduates can join the waiting list and will be contacted if a space becomes available: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/black-vanilla-work-experience-2023-tickets-597812301687?aff=ebdsoporgprofile.
