Guernsey-based PR agency, Black Vanilla, and local bank, Skipton International, have been shortlisted for the Chartered Institute of Public Relations ‘PRide’ awards. They are the only two finalists selected from the Channel Islands. The PRide awards celebrate achievements in the PR industry on a regional level, with agencies from the Channel Islands and South of England competing in the same category.

The institute’s PRide Awards recognise the outstanding work that’s been delivered across the UK regions in the last 12 months. They give formal recognition of excellence and allow PR professionals to celebrate their achievements. The CIPR PRide Awards are open to any organisation, company or individual connected to, or working within, the public relations or communications industries and whose work was completed within the Awards regions across the whole of the UK.

Black Vanilla has been shortlisted in the Small Consultancy of the Year category and has also made the Best Event shortlist for the IoD Guernsey Future Leaders Summit.

Skipton International has been shortlisted in the not-for-profit campaign category for its ‘Driving Community Impact on a Small Island’ campaign featuring BBC journalist Clive Myrie. Both companies are celebrating a second consecutive year as finalists.

Nichole Culverwell, Director at Black Vanilla, said: ‘We are thrilled to have made the shortlist in these two categories. This is the first year that the CIPR has run an events category, and we are proud to celebrate the achievements of our hardworking events team. The IoD Future Leaders Summit was a hallmark event for the island’s next generation and one we are incredibly proud to share.’

Julie Todd, PR Manager at Skipton International, said: ‘Our team is so pleased that our hard work on this campaign has been recognised. We are a small PR team in Guernsey but we aspire to make a large impact on the community and our campaign with Clive Myrie reached all corners of the island.’

The awards evening will take place on Thursday 5th October in Bristol.
