Channel Islands PR Forum 2019: Purposeful Profits and the Role of PR

Published On: September 4th, 2019Categories: Agency news, Events, PRBy

Black Vanilla is proud to support this year’s CIPR Channel Islands PR Forum, which will explore the themes of corporate purpose, social responsibility and the role of PR professionals. The forum is taking place at the Digital Greenhouse Guernsey on Thursday 12th September, running from 12.15 pm – 5.00 pm.

The event is an opportunity for local PR, marketing and communications professionals to learn about and discuss one of the most topical issues facing the industry – how companies can be both profitable and benefit our wider society.

Black Vanilla’s Corporate Purpose

We have recently been exploring our own corporate purpose, examining the role that Black Vanilla plays in the community and the wider world. We have always supported charities with professional PR services and our ‘pay-it-forward PR’ concept has helped third-sector organisations fundraise and meet their communications goals.

We also play our part in the enterprise ecosystem with free workshops, and this autumn will see the launch our BV Open House events, designed to support start-ups and entrepreneurs by sharing our experience and comms expertise.

The forum will give us an opportunity to continue to develop our ‘better business’ framework and we’re excited to have three people from Black Vanilla attend the event.

CIPR Forum Details

The CIPR Forum will begin with a networking sandwich lunch, which Black Vanilla has sponsored. Following this, four experienced and inspirational speakers will explore the themes of corporate purpose, social responsibility and the role of PR professionals.

Opening the afternoon is Soulla Kyriacou, the COO of Blueprint for Better Business. Soulla’s talk will cover purposeful profit, discussing why sustainability and CSR are critical for commercial success.

Blueprint’s approach has been praised by Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of England, and we are looking forward to learning about their principles and framework for creating a business purpose.

CIPR President Emma Leech will then discuss the PR industry’s role as the guardians of corporate reputation and how corporate purpose helps us to connect an organisation and its stakeholders.

Global Head of Social Innovation and UK&I Head of Corporate Responsibility at Experian, Richard Donovan, will also be speaking at the event.

Richard will explain how Experian uses the power of data to create a better future, and how it is delivering its purpose through core business activities and a corporate responsibility programme.

The final speaker will be Advita Patel, Founder of the Comms Hive and Chair of CIPR Inside.

Advita will be discussing the hurdles facing internal communications and explaining how you can bring your people with you to create purposeful profit.

The event is available for both CIPR members and non-members so make sure you grab your tickets now!
